About the Diving.

Diving in the Flower gardens is incredible especially when you consider it's right off our coast (I say right off, 110 miles, but still off our coast). The reef caps are about 60 feet from the surface on all three banks. That’s the very top, with the banks dropping off well past the reach of recreational divers. The first dive of each day is limited to 130 feet and all subsequent dives are limited to 100 feet. Divers have the chance to dive up to 11 times on this trip. Dives are not led by dive masters, but ScubaToys has a trip leader going and they will be happy to lead the group around.

Divers need their Advanced Open Water certification before booking this trip. Conditions can be challenging and therefore aren’t conducive to a novice diver.

Things to take with you.

All divers will need their certification card and log book. If you will be diving nitrox, you must have your nitrox card. You will be in charge of bringing all gear required to dive except the tank. This means you need at least these items - mask, snorkel, fins, boots, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, dive computer or timing device w/ tables & weights. If you plan on doing a night dive, you will need a primary and backup light as well as a tank marker. It is mandatory to have an SMB (surface marker buoy). Compasses and signaling devices are recommended. AL80 tanks are available for air or nitrox, but bring your own tanks, if you choose. Larger tanks will cost extra to fill with NITROX. A save-a-dive kit is also important as you are responsible for your gear. Remember we are 4 bunks to a room so don't pack your entire dive closet but be sure to be complete. If you prefer to dry off after your dives it is strongly suggested to bring a Towel!!

Any other questions about the boat or the trip itself you can check out the M/V Fling faq's.
